High School Readiness/Placement

St. Patrick Catholic School graduates do exceptionally well on the high school placement test each December. The HSPT (High School Placement Test) is another assessment we use to measure our students' progress as they graduate from St. Patrick and move to high school. An average of 87% of our alumni make their high school honor roll each quarter.

St. Patrick Catholic School strongly encourages our graduates to continue their education at one of the local area Catholic high schools. The school administration encourages parents of students in grade 6, 7, and 8 to call the Catholic High schools of choice to arrange tours, ask questions, and attend any of their prospective family events.

To help students and families make their decisions about high school, all of the Catholic high schools visit St. Patrick in September and October to give a 30-minute presentation to our 7th and 8th grade students. In addition, St. Patrick students are encouraged to “shadow” at all of the high school, but prefer that our students do this when St. Patrick School is NOT in session. There are several days that can be used for shadowing prior to the High School Placement Test in December.

SHADOWING AT AREA CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOLS

8th grade students are encouraged to “shadow” at a Catholic high school only on the days when St. Patrick Catholic School is NOT in session. There are several days that can be used for shadowing prior to the High School Placement Test in December.  7th grade students may shadow in the spring; January – April.
