With the recent weather conditions and time of year, we thought it would be helpful to communicate the Parish-school weather policy, which includes Daily Mass and all ministry activities.
If St. Patrick Parish and School are CLOSED due to weather, no activities/events/meetings, athletic events, including Daily Mass, will occur.
The decision to close schools due to weather conditions will be announced via radio and TV for the Catholic schools of Jefferson County. St. Patrick Catholic School adheres to these decisions.
One of the following announcements will be made:
· All Catholic elementary and high schools in Jefferson County are OPEN;
· Catholic elementary and high schools in Jefferson County will be OPEN BUT ON A DELAYED SCHEDULE;
· All Catholic elementary and high schools in Jefferson County are CLOSED.
Delayed Schedule
If a delayed schedule is announced, St. Patrick Catholic School will begin at 9:45 a.m. Teachers and staff are expected to be here by 9:15 A.M. If we are ever on a delayed schedule on a Wednesday morning, we will not have an all-school Mass. We will start our normal Wednesday schedule after morning announcements at approximately 10:00 a.m.
If the School is on a delayed schedule, daily Mass will take place at 8:00am (except School Masses). The parish office will open at 9:00am on a delayed schedule.
Early Dismissal
Should inclement weather develop during the course of a school day, the superintendent’s office will make a decision regarding an early dismissal for Catholic schools in Jefferson County. If an early dismissal is necessary, the superintendent's office will contact the schools and radio and television stations with the announcement, “Catholic elementary and high schools in Jefferson County will dismiss at 1:30 p.m.” If inclement weather conditions necessitate a change in the 1:30 p.m. early dismissal time, the superintendent’s office will make that decision and communicate the dismissal time to the schools and radio and television stations.
Additionally, St. Patrick Catholic School will also utilize the Honeywell Instant Alert system to communicate important weather information to our staff and parents.
