First Reconciliation

First Reconciliation is celebrated as a communal rite from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2019.

Families also have the option to fulfill Reconciliation on their own from 4 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays in Church or by appointment with Father Jeff Shooner or Father Steven Reeves.  Reconciliation schedules can vary during Advent; therefore, please refer to the parish website or call the parish office for questions regarding schedules.

Second graders in St. Patrick’s Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) will use “Blessed” by Dynamic Catholic. Lessons will be fulfilled through a partnership between parents and the PREP catechist.

Second graders in St. Patrick School will use an overall religious education curriculum entitled “Blest Are We”.  They will also use “Blessed” for Reconciliation and Holy Communion catechesis.

All School and PREP parents of second graders are expected to attend one parent only meeting and one parent-child workshops in preparation for the sacrament.   The workshop will utilize stories and activities to review content about the sacrament and rehearse with the children. Childcare for siblings is provided for the parent-child workshops.  Contact Tammy Kessler, Children’s Formation Coordinator, with questions about arranging childcare.

Families desiring to participate in the preparation process for First Reconciliation must complete a sacrament form, attach a copy of the child's Baptismal certificate (no certificate is required if child was baptized at St. Patrick) and return the form(s) to Tammy Kessler, Children's Formation Coordinator, This email address is being protected from spambots. A Child's Act of Contrition

My God,
I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.
In choosing to do wrong
and failing to do good,
I have sinned against you
whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with your help,
to do penance,
to sin no more,
and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.
Our Savior Jesus Christ
suffered and died for us.
In his name, my God, have mercy.
